Stuart Calton. The Bench Graft.

The Bench Graft is an angular and impressionistic review of the disgusting history of Parliamentary Democracy.

1-903488-36-2. 2004. 32 pp. £4.00 / $6.00

STUART CALTON is a poet and musician more frequently visible under the name T.H.F. Drenching. He runs Fenland Hi-Brow Recordings with his partner Sonic Pleasure. They release freely-improvised music and musique concrète from an end-terrace called Flat Of Angles, 6 Kersh Avenue, in Levenshulme, Manchester, M19 2SW.

The Bench Graft

from The Bench Graft vii

Ring out distorted on
target brokered to
spanner perfectly a
retainer ligature. The
jaw needn’t crack,
muscle tight across the
safe seat. Shake up the
snowball, as the latch

alarm permits. It is a
grip of circular fever as
curaçao production persists,
unstirred, built to cope;
the too-solid glaze of
frost can convey a
tendered brilliance
recalled on request.
Count on this quiet
inversion, see if Andy
Love can draw a wince,
singing out, clear as a bell.
